Dementia Day Centre
The dementia day respite centre is located on the grounds of Gillawarna in a lovely setting . Our clients are provided with activities designed to meet their social, physical and psychological needs, whilst providing their carers the opportunity to take a break from the demands of their caring role.
The Centre has its own bus and respite clients are collected and returned home by our staff. A small daily fee is payable, which includes transportation, activities and lunch. Our clients also enjoy bus outings. The centre is available to people who have a diagnosis of dementia and live within the Bankstown area. We also offer bi-monthly carers meeting for the carers of our dementia clients. The purpose is to provide support and encouragement. It’s a great chance to catch up, share stories and say hello.
With state-of-the-art equipment, fun exercise programs and educational talks from guest speakers, our Wellness Centre is an all-round uplifting place to visit. Not only do you have the opportunity to maintain or improve your physical fitness within a safe and friendly environment, but you can also participate in innovative wellbeing programs and chat with allied health professionals.
