COVID-19 Virus
5th March Update

05 Mar 2020 | Anne Nohra

Dear Resident and Family members,

I am writing to you to provide an update on how we are approaching the management of a potential Corona virus (Covid19) at Bankstown City Aged Care. At this time we have no staff, residents or clients affected by the virus.

The first thing I want to assure you about is that we are actively working within BCAC and with area health to ensure we have a comprehensive plan to manage any circumstances that may arise.

We are monitoring the system and instructions from the Department of Health daily and adjusting protocols or planning as we go to ensure we can respond quickly and efficiently to any issues which may arise.

The safety of our residents, their families/visitors and our staff is paramount and we are doing everything possible to ensure we can manage issues arising from the corona virus in a calm and co-ordinated way that ensures everyone’s well-being and protection.

You can help us by:

  • Washing/sanitising your hands when you attend one of our facilities
  • Not attending the facility if you are unwell –especially if you have cold-like symptoms
  • Not attending our facilities if you have recently returned from any of the notified countries (currently Iran, China, Italy, South Korea, Mongolia, Japan)
  • If you are a resident or client, letting us know if you are feeling unwell or off-colour as soon as possible
  • Staying calm and aware

We will be providing regular updates for residents and families and, will continue to maintain a vigilant and co-ordinated approach in response to the current Corona virus.

Could you please pass on this information to all family members and likely visitors to our facilities.

Warmest regards

Deborah Key
